Technical Program
We have three exciting sessions lined up that will cover the chemistry, biology and nanoscience aspects of peptoids. There will be a nice mix of student, post-doc and PI presentations, as well as a poster session complete with refreshments. A nice catered dinner will also be provided (included in your registration) on Monday evening, and tours will also be provided. We encourage you to stay Tuesday afternoon for informal “interaction time” to hang out and discuss science with each other, and to spend some time checking out our corporate sponsor exhibits. If you see any potential conflicts with the agenda please contact us.
Pre-summit BBQ on Sunday afternoon/evening
Foundry post-docs are organizing a BBQ at a local park in Berkeley on Sunday afternoon, especially for our out of town visitors! Once registered, you will get details about this event.
Monday & Tuesday, August 9th-10th, 2010
Location: Building 66 Auditorium
Hotel & Accommodations
We recommend our out of town visitors to stay at the brand new LBNL Guest House, located on the beautiful LBNL campus, just a 5 minute walk to the Molecular Foundry. Special Thematic Issue of Biopolymers!
We are excited to announce that the journal Biopolymers is going to publish a special thematic issue devoted to the 7th Peptoid Summit. The issue will be edited by Prof. Kent Kirshenbaum and will cover all aspects of this developing field. All speakers at the Summit are strongly encouraged to submit a manuscript to be included in this issue. The due date for manuscripts will be October 1st, 2010.
Conference Location
The technical sessions will be held in the Building 66 Auditorium, which is right next door to the Molecular Foundry. The poster session and meals will be held in the Foundry in the 3rd floor commons area. These buildings are located at the southern edge of the spacious LBNL campus in the hills above Berkeley. Lots of peaceful trees, rolling hills and spectacular bay views are guaranteed! Directions to the LBNL campus itself can be found here. There is a security gate at the lab perimeter, but when you register for the conference, you will be automatically added to the guest list and we can arrange for parking permit. The securty gate can provide you with exact parking instructuions. The lab is also accessible via the LBNL shuttle bus service that goes between the Foundry and downtown Berkeley.
